AvShop's Privacy Policy

Cookies: Like most interactive online catalogs, we must use some often-misunderstood Internet tools called "cookies." Cookies are small bits of information sent from our computers to yours. Rest assured that cookies we send cannot provide us with any information about you or your computer. In fact, we cannot see them or the information they produce; they are used only by our catalog software during your visit. Our software needs cookies so that you can select several products from different areas of our store and save them in your virtual "shopping cart" until you are ready to submit your order. Without cookies, you would have to write down each item you wanted to purchase and type them in once you were ready to place your order. No other server besides ours can access cookies that we sent to your computer.

Personal Information: The only way for us to find out about you is for you to tell us. If you create an account to access AvShop services, place an order, or request information, we will securely maintain information needed to provide these services – such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit card number on our secure servers. For tax reasons, a paper copy of your order may also be securely stored in our accounting department.

Your e-mail address will be automatically added to our internal database when you request the services of AvShop (AvShop shopping, leftse.at, etc.). Here are specific examples of activities from which we use this information:
  1. Place an order or create an account.
  2. Request to join one of our mailing lists.
  3. Request to receive one of our newsletters.
  4. Request a Hot Deals or other price listing.
  5. Request information regarding one of our products or services.
  6. Request a product review, product roundup, or Frequently Asked Questions file by e-mail. (…such as our GPS Roundup, Headset Roundup, Flight Simulator FAQ, etc.)
  7. Download a product demo and/or request the password or instructions required to install a demo.
  8. Register for a contest.
  9. Utilize other AvShop services (…such as leftse.at, Ask-A-Pilot, etc.).
Use of Personal Information: If we have your physical name and address on file because you have created an account to access AvShop services, placed an order, or requested information from us, we may use it to mail you promotional material through the mail or to survey you about your satisfaction with our company.

Approximately once per week, we may contact you via e-mail to notify you of sales, promotions or services we offer. We may also survey you about your satisfaction with the products you’ve purchased or your shopping experience with our company.

Whenever you receive such communications from us, you will always have the option to simply remove yourself from being contacted in this way. (Keep in mind, if you later repeat activities in one of the ways mentioned above, you will be re-added to our internal database.) You also always have the option to contact our Customer Service department for assistance.

For tax purposes, we are not able to destroy records of orders placed with us.

Disclosure of Information -- Our Guarantee: We respect your privacy, so none of the information you provide us will be sold, given, or otherwise disclosed to any other party! Please note: one exception: If we sell the entire web-site and/or business at some unforeseen time in the future, we may be required to hand over existing customer information to the new owners, as part of the sale.

Changes to This Policy: We reserve the right to make changes to our policies, with one exception: We will never disclose personal information or email addresses to third parties.
