With the backing and support of Mexico's Civil Aviation department (DGAC), Caribbean Sky Tours developed the "Pilot's Guide to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula" that contains current procedures for flying to, and within, ALL of Mexico. They continuously review applicable U.S. and Mexican aviation, immigration and customs laws, regulations and publications that they believe apply to private flights. They spend countless hours each year consulting with the DGAC in Mexico City as well as traveling to each individual airport to verify the information that has been provided. By working with the DGAC and Secretaries of Tourism at the federal and state levels and participating at Aviation Expos like Sun-N-Fun, Oshkosh and AOPA Expo, they are promoting Mexico as a destination to the General Aviation community.

Pilot Guide Content - Overview:
The information in this guide is organized into four sections:

1. The Pilot Reference Section, (58 pages) which covers general Mexico information, procedures, document & equipment requirements regulations. This section also includes general information such as voltage, use of telephones & cell-phones, currency, tipping, taxis and many other items of interest.

2. The Repairs, Incidents and Emergencies Section (8 pages) which contains information on what to do if you have a mechanical problem or some type of aeronautical or medical emergency. This section contains emergency telephone numbers for the major embassies and all of the US consulates throughout Mexico so that pilots can obtain support and assistance. In addition, telephone numbers for US Coast Guard stations, Mexican Search and Rescue headquarters, FAA and DHS are included.

3. The Documents section (16 pages) has examples of aviation related documents that you may encounter during your trip, such as International Flight Plans, Arrival Reports, entry permits and more along with detailed instructions on how to fill them out. Also included are Mexican and US airports of entry, telephone numbers for US and Mexican Flight Service Stations and telephone numbers for US Customs & Border Protection offices at designated airports.

4. The Airport Reference section (166 pages) contains technical and general information along with aerial pictures for airports open to civil aviation. The data for each airport is derived from information from the DGAC and is continuously updated based on review with regional and local aviation officials along with actual visits to each airport. Also included in this section are two foldout charts. The first chart shows the location of airports as well as non-published frequencies for Mexican RCO's where pilots can obtain in-flight weather briefings and updates. The second chart is our new "Border Crossing Chart" which shows frequencies for ATC and Flight Service Stations on both sides of the border.
