Re-Imagined Headsets from AvShop Design
Fuse Clarity, Comfort and Value
Inspired to combine enhanced communications with uncompromising comfort and unsurpassed value, AvShop Design delivers on the promises of next-generation engineering, materials and manufacturing with the new A250 Series Pilot Headset.
The A250 Pilot Headset provides stereo sound and 24 decibels of noise reduction in a comfortable 11-ounce package for 124 with the convenience of a mobile phone interface jack.
The 21st century cockpit is a high-intensity environment, demanding superior judgment, unyielding attention to detail and uncompromising situational awareness. The A250 Pilot Headset enhances pilot performance by providing clear communications and increased in-flight comfort.
Without substantial noise protection, dangerous levels of engine and wind noise combine to distract you, fatigue you and disrupt communications with your crew, your fellow aviators and controllers on the ground. The 11-ounce A250 uses high-density sound-deadening foam in the earcups with contour-conforming earseals to reduce noise levels by 24 decibels, or more than 90% from unprotected levels.
Inside each earcup, high-fidelity stereo speakers are tuned to enhance the clarity of radio communications and intra-crew transmissions.
For maximum outbound transmission clarity, a premium electret microphone is outfitted with a foam mic muff and held in an optimal position by the flexible but precise and stable boom. The boom pivots 180 degrees, allowing for left or right-side mic placement.
Carrying over design and manufacturing limitations from the 1970's, the weight, pressure and poor design of traditional aviation headsets combine to make you progressively more uncomfortable the longer you fly. The A250 conquers all three problems by exploiting the benefits of modern materials science and computer-aided design techniques.
Composite materials reduce weight beyond previously understood thresholds without compromising sound-deadening or durability. The lightweight high-density materials used in the earcups hold overall weight for the A250 to a stunning 11 ounces, making the headset noticeably lighter than traditional units. Compact materials also allow for a more streamlined low-profile design that is both aesthetically pleasing and space-conscious for taller pilots in smaller cockpits.
Instead of relying on high levels of skull-clamping pressure from the headband to seal out noise, the A250 optimizes fit (and with it, noise reduction) with a screwless size adjustment system and soft-seal foam earseals. The size adjustment system easily extends and contracts for a wide variety of head sizes but maintains your previous adjustment until you intend and act to change it.
Unique soft-seal foam earseals easily wrap sunglasses to maintain a constant seal and have non-slip surface properties to remain cool and stable under all conditions.
At the center of it all, the semi-rigid, low-profile headpad features a smooth leatherette surface on the interior radius - it won't pinch, itch or bind your hair and scalp -- even on the longest cross-countries.
Adjusting volume on the fly can be an adventure with cup-mounted knobs. In the A250, a contoured 1" x 3" x 5/8" control panel fits naturally in your hand. Sliding volume controls for the left and right channels and a switch for Mono and Stereo use are instantly recognizable by feel.
The A250 includes a 2.5 mm mobile phone interface to the control panel. Use the provided cable to plug into your mobile phone and make use of time normally lost before take-off or after landing. Save time when you use your standard mobile phone to close flight plans, call customers or confirm dinner reservations as soon as you touch down.
A custom soft case is provided for protection when stowed in your flight bag or your aircraft. Built with high-quality components throughout, reliability is enhanced by the use of top-grade cabling, durable housings and commercial-grade connections. The A250 is backed by a 2-year warranty.
