Based on FAR Part 61.87 Solo Requirements for Student Pilots.
Would you like to learn to fly but feel overwhelmed by all the things you need to learn? Maybe you should start with the Basics!
Pre-Solo Basics provides you with the information you need to solo, nothing more. The subjects are broken up into 'bite-size' chunks that are easy to digest.
The program uses easy to understand text and illustrations. It covers aerodynamics, procedures, techniques, systems and more. Questions at the end of each workbook reinforce the subject areas covered in that booklet.
Presented in twelve manageable workbooks. Pre-Solo Basics are arranged in a logical sequence to coincide with flight lessons with a Certified Flight Instructor. Or, if you just want an understanding of the basics, the booklets will give you all you need.

About the Author
Cleo Chamberlain and her husband Rick have been in aviation together since 1978 when they started an FBO in Alaska. During their ten years in Alaska Rick taught Cleo to fly and she became an Instructor also. He also tutored her in the ways of airframe and powerplant mechanics and she achieved her A&P certificate. They both now hold Inspection Authorizations.
In 1988 they closed the Alaska business for warmer Tucson, Arizona. There, they lived on an Airpark and ran a maintenance and flight training business. With the influx of non-aviation minded neighbors, the Airpark no longer fit their needs, so they migrated to the wide-open spaces of New Mexico.
2002 they moved to Rodeo, New Mexico to continue their aviation ventures and realize nearly every pilots' dream - their very own airport. Though technically a private airport, they hope to serve the community of Rodeo and the surrounding areas as a general aviation airport that is open to the public. They will be adding services such as fuel and hangars as the demand arises.
Here in Rodeo they are still working on airplanes and teaching people to fly. Rick is working toward the rebuilding and restoring part of maintenance while still performing annual inspections and regular maintenance for their clients. Cleo does most of the instructing and has published the Youth Pilot Training Program for young aviators.
