I have owned the model 15 for a number of years. The thirty 3G is great. The same comfort as I experienced with the 15 with greater noise canceling. You can not explain how well it works, you must fly with it to understand. I just finished a 8 hour flight from Oklahoma to California in my RV-6. I never had to reposition the headset ONCE!! The only complaint I have is the control/battery unit. I Velcro'ed the unit on a flat spot and if I accidentally pull on the headphone cord, the battery pack opens. There must be a better design other than having the control/battery pack hanging down from the jacks. A minor issue for a great product. Highly recommend it... fly with them once, you will never fly with out them again.

This headset combines lightness, sound reduction (active and passive) and ergonomics; for the first time I have a headset that's equally good for long X country and for acro. My only concern is the plastic in the construction, particularly the fork; a couple of years' use will show how well it lasts. Of course it's this plastic that makes the headset light enough to not drag on me in high-G maneuvers, so basically it's a good thing and criticism is at once premature and ungrateful.

I previously owned the "low-end" LightSpeed ANR headset and enjoyed them on shorter trips, but started getting uncomfortable on longer trips (over 2 hours). I have not had the slightest problem with the Thirty 3G headset on trips as long as 4 hours. The noise reduction is quite good and though I have not yet tried the CD or cellphone adapter, I believe that this adds another dimension to the headsets. Compared to other brands of ANR headsets, the LightSpeeds are truly a value product.

I have had the Lightspeed 30 3g headset for over 15 monthsand im already going on my third pair! Im an airline pilot in alaska and wearing these headset for an average of 7 hours a day ,5 days a week. Overall the comfort and noise canceling features are great. I also often use the music plug in feature this really helps you stay alert flying long legs everday.

This product was great in every area but comfort. The cell phone connection and ANR were especially nice. I have replaced the LightSpeed Thirty 3G with the passive David Clark 13.4 and find the DC's very comfortable. For me the bottom line is comfort and you must wear a headset for several hours to know if it's right for you. So, if you need the features of the LightSpeed Thirty 3G give it a try!

I've had a 20XL for years. I upgraded to the Thirty 3G through Lightspeed's upgrade program. I have received outstanding service from the headset and from the company. You call them and you get a live person on the phone immediately. You email them, and they email you back promptly. Want to talk to someone in tech support... no problem they'll transfer you to a live person... unbelievable service and support. I fly a Bell 206 JetRanger for a living. The only drawback I find with the Lightspeed headset is that when I fly with the doors off in the summer and am hovering crosswind I get a little vibration through the headset. No problems whatsoever in flight. I've had no service or quality problems and appreciate the cell phone interface. It works great. Sidetone for the phone call and everything. Also, you can choose whether or not you want the headset to mute the phone call when the radio or intercom breaks through. It mutes the phone call about 80% according to the literature. I guess I should

I have owned the Thirty 3G for over a month and am very happy with the performance. I am a flight instructor and was using a David Clark 13.4 headset. On days when I was flying at least four hours, I would have headaches. I have not had a headache since. They are comfortable and give excellent noise reduction. My only concern is the durability of the construction. Overall, it is a very good product at a great value.

Have them for several months. Find them extremely comfy, well designed, great ANR but poor quality. My battery box melted in flight, leaving me without ANR but, lucky me, with communication still possible. Have to admit Lightspeed service is one of a kind, fast,no questions asked and very nice. They are great headsets, you just have to be prepared for some maintenance from time to time.

I've had the Thirty 3G for a month now and I've absolutely enjoyed every flight with it. I've used the auxiliary hook up for both my MP3 player and a cell phone and it works great, if fact the sound from the MP3 player is so good I'm tempted to use the headset to replace my regular headphones :) I'm amazed at how much sound is actively blocked every time I turn on the headset. I will never buy a passive headset again. The plastic design makes me a little nervous but only time will tell. For comfort, weight, and active noise reduction this product gets an A+ from me.

Have had the 30G for about eight months. Upgraded from Sigtronics PNR. Have also owned Telex ANR. This headset is very comfortable, thought somewhat bulky. The noise cancellation is fantastic. I did have to have the headset serviced recently, after about 60 hours of use. The right side speaker stopped working. The service was as good as any company I have ever dealt with. When you call you speak to a live person. They fixed the problem and also replaced the ear seals and added a slip-on battery compartment clip, which was definitely needed. Definitely recommend, though maybe not for everyday use. Just not sure of the durability.

30-3G review from Denver

I have used the 30-3G for over a year and love it, in fact so much that I immediately purchased another one for my wife to use for her music (XM off of the 396) I have a smaller than average head (6 3/4 hat size) and find this is the best fit I have found. I have used Telex ANR originals and the $1000 Bose and could only either of those for about 2 hrs before the top of my ears and head needed a rest, even with a cap with no "button" on top. I routinely fly legs over 5 1/2 hrs in a T-210 and only if wearing the standard "Oakley style" earbow sunglasses does my head start to fatigue by trips end. A flat ear bow like most Smith or Serengeti's is comfortable for the whole flight. Passengers with larger heads do not find these as comfortable as those with smaller head sizes. The performance etc is as good or better than Bose and the people at Lightspeed are the example that all companies should emulate for customer service. I am anxious to see if the new "Zulu" from LS is worth the upgrade expense.
