They work quite well. These were actually purchased for a non-aviation application. My 2nd grade daughter is in an accelerated reading program at school. The "AR" students were often distracted by noise from other activities within the classroom, so the hearing protection was employed to give them some quiet. I have nothing else to compare the Peltor with but they work quite well. Not too heavy for little heads and effective.

I purchased these particular hearing protectors due to their high noise reduction rating at the higher Hz frequencies. I fly an ultralight with a "pusher" configuration, and it is extremely noisy. I do require radio communications, so I drilled and fitted an aviation microphone w/boom mount on the left earcup. I use an in-the-ear type speaker, which I wear under the earcup. It works great.
