Lightweight, comfortable, and easy to take off and on. I was starting my instrument training and trying to decide on a view-limiting device. For me, Foggles are too tight to wear comfortably and they are hot in the summer. Traditional hoods were too bulky and didn't fit well with a headset. Then I saw the Viban in an issue of Plane & Pilot and bought one to try it. I love it. Lightweight, comfortable, and easy to take off and on under a headset. The view is a little less restricted to the sides than Foggles, but it was easy to adjust for. And if you want to "pop out" of the clouds, just tilt your head back a little.

This one is nicer... I was using another brand of view limiting device that was also lightweight, easy to put on and off and small. This one is nicer because it blocks my periphery, which the other one didn't. I also like the carrying case, which I wear on my belt. That makes it easy to access in the cockpit, and gives you someplace to put your glasses.

Better than any Foggles I have used-still hard to beat a hood, but it comes close. Works great with a headset.

Purchased ViBAN in Dec from AvShop for IFR training and used 10+ hrs to date. For most part, works as good/slightly better than jiffy hood w/o the bulk. Doesn't quite block my periphery, so I've had to tape a 2x8" strip paper to extend down the sides. Still requires chart thrown up on left dash (both Cessna & Piper). Biggest problem, I can't wear prescription glasses w/ it due to the nose support. No big deal during nav, but I'm forced to land w/o glasses when I hit DH on an ILS.

The Viban is by far the best visor I have used over the past 17 years. It's very light weight and seems to be less "in the way" than other similar items I've used like the Jepp flip down view limiter I have.

We test flew this visor just the other night. Both I and my instructor were very impressed. Very lightweight and comfortable, but you don't quite get the complete block out, I found I was getting some peripheral vision out of the side of my Cessna's windshield which defeats the object somewhat. On the whole a good product.
