I felt comfortable flying with the 530 right away... I used VFLITE to get up to speed on my new GNS 530 before installation. After using VFLITE, I felt comfortable flying with the 530 right away - it really helped minimize confusion about GNS operations and significantly got me over the learning curve. I strongly recommend using VFLITE for anyone who's new to the Garmin's!

I wasn't really impressed by the VFlite software for the Lowrance 2000C. It was put together well, and had a lot of good information, but the training simulation was not very user friendly. I wish they would have included a section on basic Lowrance symbology and gone a little more in depth in a lot of sections. If you are new to the 2000C it will be a benefit to you, but I guess I expected more for the price.

I have both VFLITE GNS 530/430 CDs and have really enjoyed both of them. They are extremely well designed and thought through. I have installed them on my laptop and find myself opening the programs almost daily.
