Two rough spots: the battery door is fragile; and the dialing button can easily miss your input, forcing you to turn it more than necessary to set the desired timer value. Take care of these two pesky and distracting items, and you get what I have been waiting for a LONG time: a GREAT timer designed for aviation with a meaningful interface, large numbers, and easy operation. Good bye kitchen timer!

This is a great timer, just a few nits to pick. The battery door is fragile (as previously noted), and the supplied Velcro patch won't stay stuck on the metal clip. Mine fell off during an ILS approach. Kudos on the backlight; and the large setting knob is great, but takes a little practice. Lots of timing options, all relatively easy to access. Large, easy to read numbers and a good compact size overall. There were no instructions included, but it was a snap to figure out. Best timer I've used!

Only three problems with this product: One, there is no way to disable the "set" function. This means that while the timer is in your flight bag the set function gets pushed, and then things get changed such as the time, or some approach time. Second problem is similar: Its too easy to change the approach times accidentally. Third, the beeper is not really loud enough especially with ANR headphones on. BUT these problems are nits compared to the value and functionality of the timer.

Sitting on the ground this timer is very effective. The issues begin when you climb into a cockpit and are flying an approach in IMC and trying to sort out the buttons.

I've been using this timer as I'm working toward my IFR rating. Very easy to use...didn't have to read the enclosed instructions to make it work. Big characters on the display. Easy to find buttons when in a hurry. I agree with the prior review regarding buttons being inadvertently pressed while in the flight bag though. I wish there was a way to disable the setting buttons unless you want to use them. I'd recommend this timer to anyone needing one.

This is really useful to me. I use all of the features and will keep doing so for a long time to come I hope. My complaints are: A. it's really big, the screen is a good size but does it really have to be this large? B. it seems pretty expensive for a multifunction kitchen timer painted black. And I'd like to ditto one of the previous reviewers with the set function. Almost every week I have to reset the timer because it lives in my flight bag during my off week.

OK, All the same comments as above. To solve the timer getting pushed while in the bag, double-push the knob. It resets the Approach or Home timer that has expired. Also, find a place to store the timer outside your bag to prevent it from clocking down. The backlight works wonders on night IFR and the tones are clear enough to be heard above the engine and active noise-cancellation of headsets.

Like so many others, you need to add some type of cover to protect the unit while stored in the flight bag. The only other thing is, the beeper needs to be louder. The back light is really a great feature. I haven't used anything better.

I recently purchased this product and gave it the acid test by first using it during an IPC. It worked flawlessly. Having the anticipated approach times preloaded made that part a breeze, especially considering the turbulence of the flight. The functions were easy to use going from approach to a MAP hold. The tone/alarm could be louder for those of us using headsets. For those of us who have to share the plane a yoke mount similar to the chart style would be great. I modified a yoke mounted chart clip purchased from AVShop, by adding a flat plastic piece on top of the clip, and it was great.

After purchasing about five different timers I saw this timer/clock/... I purchased a Cessna 150 6 weeks ago and have flown 20 hours with the plane and timer. The timer is extremely easy to see/set/change/while flying. Although I am only using the timer for VFR use, I can see the benefit for the IFR guys as well. It's definitely not your Radio Shack $10 timer, but you get your money's worth on this one!

Over all great. Time setting, back lighting etc all good. Two areas that need improvement IMHO, the alarm needs to be MUCH louder - can't hear it over the engine noise (Grumman Cheetah)and secondly the fuel timer should have a user definable default.

This is a great timer with the features I need. The buttons are intuitive and it's a very easy timer to use. I have two items of concern. One, the main button sticks out and it is almost guaranteed that it will be pushed and probably turned in your flight bag. I wish that there was a disable switch or an off switch for that button or even for all the buttons. Two, I wish that there was a better mounting mechanism rather than the stick on hook and loop fasteners. Otherwise, it's a great timer.

Great product very useful, and handy to operate. The only thing that I don't like is that it is so easy to change the settings that they change themselves when carried in my flight bag. Then I have to reset everything before each flight.

When left in the plane in the heat and sunshine the display turns dark and becomes difficult to see. The included Velcro doesn't stick---everytime I go to the plane I find the timer on the floor, usually with the battery door off and the batteries loose requiring me to reset the times. The features themselves are great, and the buttons are intuitive to use---if I could just get it to stay where I put it (the yoke) and see it in all light

The biggest problem with this product is that the big button used to set times gets lightly bumped and twisted when it is in storage or in say your kneeboard pocket. If they fixed this it would be a great basic timer!
