Simply THE standard for headsets when it comes to comfort and noise reduction. I tried several others to compare, namely the Telex Stratus 50-D and the new Lightspeed. I have found (though others review differently) both the Telex and the Lightspeed gave me a headache after only an hour or two. Instructing several hours a day in a Cirrus I want something that's quiet and very comfortable...hence the Bose. You simply will almost forget you have them on. No headaches from sound or the "squeeze" on the side of my head. Are they worth the price? Yes. After ONE long day of flying you will realize that the additional investment is a quick payoff in comfort and sound. An absolute must have for flights long or short. Try them out and see for yourself.

Fantastic product, worth the investment. This headset has made flying a Cherokee 180 so much better, the noise reduction has to be experienced to be believed. The headset is also well made, very light weight and comfortable. Recommend 1000%

I'll agree that $1000 is a lot of money to spend. However, I am an aviation student and will be flying high power props for the next three years rather constantly. I need to keep my ears working. The Bose X is awesome. I tried a few David Clarks (they were nice) but they didn't compare. Once you press the button to turn on the ANR it sounds like the engine has died. It is really something. It is well worth the money, if you don't mind spending the money. And, as a student with debts and still buying something like this, you know it has to be good.

I have to say that these are the most confortable headsets I have ever worn in my life. The block out noise more then any other headset that I have tried. However, not the best durability.

Wanted the BOSE X...but kept the LightSPEED

I.m a 975+ hour IFR private pilot and fly C172S + C182.s. I have owned a LightSPEED Thirty-3G headset for 1 ½ years. Although I was very happy, I became intrigued with the BOSE X Headset. I read every review that I could find and finally decided to buy a set directly from BOSE with their 12 month payments and 30 day trial offer. First, Bose is a very professional company. The salesperson and later the technical people were very professional and friendly. However, I.m going to return the BOSE X and keep the LightSPEED Thirty-3G. The BOSE is Lighter, better looking and very comfortable, however, the LightSPEED is quieter, has better side tone and actually sounds better. Too bad, because I really liked the fit and finish of the BOSE. The LightSPEED looks bulky, but sounds better and is $400 less expensive.

The best part about the headset is that you stop noticing you're wearing it shortly after you put it on. It has excellent noise cancellation and communication clarity, maybe on par with best headsets out there, but the comfort factor is out of this world. My previous set, LightSpeed 20 XL seems like a vice grip compared to it. With this set I can fly all day long and not even notice it - worth every penny.
