It works, well. I'm a student pilot that's been having some trouble adjusting to night flight. The light has helped, and my instructor thinks it's neat enough that he's getting one. Mounting it on the mic was a bit of a pain though, but manageable.

After a night cross country spent fiddling with my flashlight and map, I had it. I needed a light that was made for aviators and I set out to research what was available. To my surprise most of the aviation offerings looked like terrestrial lights with red or green lenses. When I stumbled across the Mic Light I was intrigued . it looked like someone had spent some serious time designing a light weight . hands free lighting system.

This light made my life much easier in the back of a helicopter that was yankin'and bankin'. I used one of these for years as a helicopter flight engineer in the USAF. My job required me to look under my NVGs to read performance charts, clear machine gun jams, and operate rescue equipment among other duties where NVGs simply got in the way. This light made my life much easier in the back of a helicopter that was yankin'and bankin'. I now use the light off of my helicopter helmet for my personal flying. The light they have here is the same one I use. The batteries last a very long t

Great idea, but a little rough in application. 1. The switch does not turn on with tongue pressure; it pushes the mic away on my Pilot headset. I find that you need to squeeze the switch with your fingers. Maybe a "bite switch" option? 2. The attachment to the Pilot mic boom was not secure; I think this is a problem with any boom that does not employ a pivot screw at the mic head attachment point. 3. The light illuminates very well.

Great product. Works especially well in older aircraft with somewhat poor lighting. I fly in an older Cessna and when flying around the ADIZ in Washington DC, the light comes in very handy to check your transponder code, altitude, and heading. Works very nice to check your airspeed as where you look the light goes. Overall, a great product!

Battery pack on top of head band is clumsy, difficult if overhead clearance is low. Good idea to have it disconnectible for use only when needed. Mounted on David Clark noise canceling headset, but mounting system aimed light to left and required bending of mic stalk too much inward to align beam to front. It is useful and will be retained!

Great idea, poor realization for GA headsets. I placed the bulky battery pack behind the left earmuff out of the way as much as possible. I used zip ties to secure the light to the mic boom and trashed the screws. Long cable spiral wrapped around mic boom. Can be accidentally turned on when putting headset away. The switch is sensitive, but not enough to switch on using tongue or lips as designed. After using my own methods to attach to headset, an excellent product. I'm glad I purchased it.

I am pleased to say that I am satisfied with the mic light. It provides an excellent source of easily directed light for taking notes during night flight (especially for single pilot IFR flying without an autopilot). I found that a combination of twist ties and electrical tape made for the most concealing installation. I mounted the battery pack to the top of my headset using the Velcro sent with the kit. When in use, this keeps the battery pack out of the way (and the headset balanced), and I can store it in my flight bag when it's not needed. I have only two minor complaints: 1. the battery pack is a bit cumbersome, and 2. the price was more than I expected.

The lite is great - No problem with installation - In order to be able to use your lip or tongue to turn the light on and off - I found that by rapidly switching it on and off over and over - it became very easy to use my tongue and lip. A little pricey but works great - I am very satisfied.

Good product overall, but it could use a few tweaks. A bite or blow switch would be more useful, and the supplied mounting hardware was pretty much useless for a Lightspeed 20XL headset. I can live with the switch, and I found an easy way to mount the led's with Velcro on the mike boom, but for the asking price these shouldn't be issues. A dimmer feature would also be nice, but that may be asking a bit much. I like it enough to keep it, especially since there aren't many alternatives for a similar product. Much simpler than messing around with a flashlight while you're busy trying to aviate, navigate, & communicate.

I have mine mounted on a Lightspeed 30 3G. Also used it on Lightspeed 25XL before upgrading. Mounting was simple, no major hassles. Is use the light as a backup to regular panel lighting in my C-421B. Adequate light output from such a small unit.

While the quality of the product seemed good, I was disappointed with the packaging of the item of all things. This was a Christmas gift for my son and I thought something this expensive should have had something more than a clear plastic bag. Light was good, mounted easily.

Finally a cockpit light that doesn't require a third (and fourth) hand. This little light is just what I need for reviewing charts or any of the other little tasks that can't be met just by instrument illumination in my Cherokee. I installed it in about five minutes on my DC 13.4 headset using the included kit. The only possible complaint is that I'd like the battery cord to be the same length as my headset cord so that I could've put the mount point for included battery bag next to the jack.

The mic-light is very unique , not only because it's the only one out there of its kind (that I'm aware of), but it actually does what it says it'll do. No problems really getting it figured out except for stabilizing it for the pressure needed to activate it. Less pressure needed still. The two small Velcro pieces between the mic and light with the two wire ties and you're good to go! The draw-back is the location for the battery pack.

This light is awesome for night flight, especially cross country! My hands are free where they never were before having to use a flashlight. The color of the light is great also;when using red, certain colors are blocked and unreadable. I'd highly recommend this light to everyone!

Since I seem to have either too much light or not enough in the cockpit at night, I found this product to be just about right. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of the "on-off" sequence with your lip, but it works well, is always there, and having just taken an Instr Prof Check yesterday in night VFR conditions, was way more useful than I expected. Besides, you have not invested hundreds or thousands of dollars if you don't care for it! Bryan S
