Good and Handy

Well, it's a good flashlight. Almost everything about it is well thought out: construction is high quality and it has a nice heft; there is a glass in front of the LED's/Bulb to keep lint or dorito bits out of there; the carry-case holds two extra batteries so you don't worry about not having replacements around; the case strap holds a little extra Xe bulb in an Al case, and the nylon carry-case itself is well-made. The only bummer is that the on-off switch for the LED's is too stiff and too little, and hard to find and depress fully without a bit of fumbling. The on-off for the Xe bulb is handy though, with intermittent and full-on options. Overall nice, and very handy.

Works Great - Well Designed

Received the Illuminaviator Flashlight this week. Arrived on time. LED's work in white, red or combo mode. Great light for the cockpit. Solid construction and fits nicely in your palm. Carrying case is well constructed, and Velcro strap allows for easy attachment to flight bag. Could I have spent up to $200 bucks on another light? Sure. But, the objective was to see that I needed to see. For what I paid for it, I could by five of these for the price of another brand. I think I'll pocket the difference.

Note to other reviewers, Learn the technology...

After reading the few bad reviews on this page, I felt obligated to inform those folks that they just aren't familiar with the technology of this light. I'll explain. The review about the "bulbs burning out in less than a month", well they DO! But it's not a defect. They're Xenon bulbs! Xenon bulbs are much brighter than say a Krypton bulb used in Minimags and they only last about 20-40 hours of use per bulb. You give up a few hours of use for a much brighter beam from 2AA batteries. They're only a couple bucks to replace... And as for the guy who said the Xenon (center bulb) switch is broken, it's not. It's a tactical tail cap switch! When you un-twist a full turn, it locks out so it won't turn on accidentally in your flight bag. It's not inoperable, it's a feature. For those who own or have seen SureFire lights, it's the same as their lights' tail cap. It's actually a highly functional switch with constant or momentary operation...Just had to vent. You shouldn't give an item 1 or 2 stars just because you're not familiar with the technology...Signed, AvShop Fan
