Comments: MUCH better than the hood for IFR training! I love the foggles. Small, compact, and lightweight they fit in my training bag and are easy to take anywhere. They work just fine for me and provide just as much coverage as the venerable old hood without the distraction of the giant hood on the head. Haven't found any drawbacks yet.

Comments: They also do not restrict the field of vision enough, and they are easily scratched. However, they are much easier to use than the hood.
